In Russell
This is our small home away from home. We want you to be as comfortable and enjoy it as much as we do, so here are some suggestions to help you make the most of it.
Accomodation
We recommend checking Airbnb for places to stay. Click the button below for a list of options. We are also working on getting a midnight ferry to Paihia to get more options.
Things to do
- Visit Long Beach for a walk or a swim.
- Walk over the hill to Tapeka Point and take in the sights at the top!
- Get a tattoo at the tattoo parlour in town.
- Have a look at the Op Shop, there's a very good bakery next door!
- Fishing off the wharf/where we got engaged.
Travel
The trip from Mt Albert to Russell is about 3 hours and 40 minutes. We recommend planning the trip early or coming up on Friday.​
The car ferry from Opua stops running at 10:00 pm, so please arrive by 9:45 pm.
Places to Eat
If you are looking for dinner options, we would recommend Hone's for some pizza, The Duke for a nicer meal, or the Fish and Chips in town.
If you need a coffee in the morning, we recommend heading over to the Hellhole for the best coffee in town.
